2 Examples of Homepages

The NY Times homepage has a layout that is pretty representative of what many larger online newspapers and magazines have. It has a central photo and links that surround the photo for other stories. It also has a column of all the different topics it focuses on to the left of the page.

National Geographic has a similar web format to NY Times but it focuses more on the imagery. It is also neater and does not wrap story links around the central image. It also sorts it links by type, such as photo, video, interactive, and features. The page itself does not have too many links on it allowing the viewer to scroll down for a long time.
